Itinerary

Experience the Rose City’s most renowned nature escape, the world famous Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. This narrated half day tour showcases the incredible diversity of scenery at Portland’s doorstep. We travel to Multnomah Falls along the river level route of the Lewis and Clark expedition and enjoy the unfolding panorama including Rooster Rock, Cape Horn, and Mist Falls, all sights first noted by the famous explorers over 200 years ago. You will have 30 minutes at the Falls to visit the viewpoint for photos, walk to the famous Benson footbridge at the base of the falls, and visit the historic landmark Multnomah Falls Lodge.

We then travel over the Historic Columbia River Highway for a 20 minutes at Vista House at Crown Point. After leaving Vista House we see a portion of the world famous waterfall corridor, the “Latourell Loops” and Falls, and Sheppard’s Dell.

Upon our return to Portland, you will again enjoy the unfolding panorama including Beacon Rock, (a massive monolith), Mist Falls, Cape Horn, and Rooster Rock. Return to Portland is approximately 12:00pm.

The visit to Multnomah Falls and Vista House are not to be missed.

The tour does not stop for lunch, as you are back in Portland by 12:00pm. Snacks are available at Multnomah Falls Lodge. There are restrooms at all of our stops and the motorcoach is restroom equipped.

The pickups for the Multnomah Falls & Columbia River Gorge Tour portion are centralized into four areas of downtown. The first stop will be a pickup at the Marriott Waterfront on SW Clay at 8:40 am. Second will be on the SW Oak Street side of the Benson Hotel at 8:50am.. The third stop is the Canopy Hotel at 8:55 am. The fourth in front of the Heathman Hotel at 9:00 am. Look for the Gray Line Coach. The ticket agent will be board at The Benson for ticketing. See the stop listing to see what stop serves which of the many hotels in each area of downtown.
