Itinerary

Experience the Rose City’s most renowned nature escape, the world famous Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. This half day tour showcases the incredible diversity of scenery at Portland’s doorstep.

We travel to Multnomah Falls along the river level route of the Lewis and Clark expedition and enjoy the unfolding panorama including Rooster Rock, Cape Horn, and Mist Falls, all sights first noted by the famous explorers over 200 years ago. Continuing to the Bonneville Fish Hatchery and Bonneville Dam and fish ladders, a national historic site in the heart of the Gorge, we pass Beacon Rock, a massive monolith. Then it is onto the Historic Columbia River Highway with panoramic views from hundreds of feet above the river at Crown Point and the historic Vista House. Descending through the famous highway loops we travel past sights including Sheppard's Dell and iconic basalt rock formations formed over thousands of years. Return to Portland along the river level route of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and enjoy the unfolding panorama, including Beacon Rock, Cape Horn and Rooster Rock, all sights first noted by the famous explorers over 200 years ago.

Visit Crown Point and Vista House with its spectacular views. Enjoy stops at Latourell and Multnomah Falls. The visit to Bonneville Dam and the Dam Fish Hatchery are not to be missed.

The tour does not stop for lunch, as you are back in Portland by 1:15pm. Snacks are available at Multnomah Falls Lodge. There are restrooms at all of our stops and the motorcoach is restroom equipped.

Note: In the Spring and early Summer, April 18 to May 16, and early Fall, October 17 to November 14, this tour operates on Saturdays. In the Summer and Fall shoulder seasons, May 23 to June 18 and September 1 to October 11, this tour only operates on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The balance of the Summer, June 20 to August 30, it operates daily.

Pickup Info

The pickups for the Multnomah Falls & Columbia River Gorge Tour portion are centralized into four areas of downtown. The first stop will be a pickup at the Marriott Waterfront on SW Clay at 8:00 am. Second will be a stop in front of the Benson Hotel (at 8:10 am) and the third, in front of the Heathman Hotel (8:20 am). Last will be the pickup at our ticket booth on SW Naito for ticketing purposes (depart 8:30 am). See the stop listing to see what stop serves which of the many hotels in each area of downtown.
Our easy to find boarding location is at 525 SW Naito Parkway. This is at foot of downtown Portland, across the street from the waterfront and just north of the Morrison Bridge. It is in a parking lot so look for the miniature Pink Trolley Sales Booth. The tour departs at 8:30am so please arrive no later than 8:20am to exchange your voucher for a ticket at our Gray Line/Pink Trolley Sightseeing sales booth.
